Buero fur Brauchbarkeit commissioned me to create the user experience including user interface, information design and product architecture for this project. The Buero implemented the product, coded front- and backend and managed the process.

The process was highly collaborative with Buero fuer Brauchbarkeit and the client to create the best possible product for the 330,000 employees. Several product cycles included wireframes, mockups, personas and user testing.

a responsive web platform – no hurdle of installing an app

We developed a responsive web platform—instead of a website-and-app combination—to make sure the content could easily be accessed and published across different devices without the hurdle of installing an app.

The online magazine is available to all 330,000 employees through desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The magazine is separated into two segments: it features weekly news from the retail and travel industries and monthly articles, documentaries, backstories, reports, and portraits covering strategic domestic and international topics of the group, including tourism, nutrition and well-being, health, economy, politics, and personnel.

The front end’s design combines large pictures and multimedia elements to create an inviting atmosphere and a playful experience while maintaining the focus on readability and usability. To foster employee interaction, we created social media tools that allow comments, “likes,” and article forwarding. By its sixth issue in June 2014, one magazine had a become an important voice for the company as well as for the employees.
